Murray Kucherawy

Murray originated in Canada where he earned a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo in 1994. He has spent his professional career working at Internet Serivce Providers and software companies, mostly tending to general infrastructure but specializing for many years in email and related technologies. He spent much effort on open source email systems at Sendmail and Cloudmark, during which he became a regular IETF participant working on software and standards in tandem. He has authored or co-authored 31 RFCs. He has chaired several working groups (MARF, WEIRDS, APPSAWG, DISPATCH, DCRUP, and more recently DMARC) and served on back-to-back NomComs. He also serves as one of the reviewers of Media Type applications, and was a member of the ICANN Technical Study Group supporting the successor to WHOIS. Since 2012 he's been employed by Facebook as both a Software Engineer and a Production Engineer, recently focused mainly on supporting and growing both internal and external cloud and data center services.

He lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughter, who is no longer afraid of Pete Resnick.
