Michael Scharf

Dr. Michael Scharf is a professor for communication networks at the University of Applied Sciences in Esslingen (Germany). Prior to moving to academia in 2018, he was as Product Line Manager in Nokia and he was responsible for a network management and software-defined networking solution, in particular for IP/optical integration. Earlier he was a research engineer in Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs with projects on cloud computing, network management, and Internet transport protocols. Michael chaired the TCP Maintenance and Minor Extensions (TCPM) working group between 2011 and 2022.
