Can you clarify the first paragraph of  4.2.3? It's not yet obvious why you felt a need to call out the Robustness Principle here specifically. Are you trying to note that you have some backwards compatibility with existing systems, provide guidance to implementers of the extension to be careful to achieve that compatibility, both, or something completely different?
