IANA has reviewed draft-savage-eigrp-03, and its reviewer has questions about its IANA Considerations section.

Upon approval of this document for publication, IANA will update the references for the following multicast registrations to point to the most recent version of this document:

      224.0.0.10          IGRP Routers                [this document]
      FF02:0:0:0:0:0:0:A  EIGRP Routers          [this document]

QUESTION: before this version was published, the authors asked whether it would be possible to replace the references for protocol number 88 with a reference to this document. The IESG has confirmed that this change can be made once the document is sent to the RFC Editor for publication.

However, the IANA Considerations section doesn't mention a protocol number registration. Was this an error, or has that request been dropped?

If this change is still required, we would suggest adding a line like "This document replaces the existing references for protocol number 88 (EIGRP)."

QUESTION: If you do need to update IANA Considerations section, would it be possible to rewrite the existing sentence to make it clear that the draft is the reference for the multicast assignments? Something like this would work:

This draft references the two multicast addresses

NEW

This document serves as the reference for the following multicast addresses:
