Technical Summary

   This document specifies the Time Zone Information Format (TZif) for
   representing and exchanging time zone information, independent of any
   particular service or protocol.  Two media types for this format are
   also defined.

   This document replaces and obsoletes RFC 8536.

Working Group Summary

   This document is an individual submission, not the product of
   a working group. 

   The work was discussed openly on the TZ mailing list, which is
   hosted by the IETF to support this IANA function.

Document Quality

   This code is widely implemented in the TZ distribution.

   No particular additional community needs to review this work prior
   to publication.
