The CCAMP working group would like to inform Q6/15, Q12/15 and Q14/15 of the ITU-T that we are progressing a document on "Management and Control of DWDM Optical Interface" (https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-ccamp-dwdm-if-mng-ctrl-fwk-09). This document describes use cases, requirements and solutions for the control and management of single channel DWDM interfaces. The purpose is to identify the necessary information and processes to be used by control or management systems to properly and efficiently manage the network. Based on the use cases, the document provides requirements to extend the capabilities of CCAMP’s control and management protocols for supporting single channel DWDM interfaces: Link Management Protocol (LMP) and GMPLS RSVP-TE signaling protocol. In order to ensure this work is consistent with ITU-T’s optical standards, we would like to receive your comments on the following items: • Please comment on the use cases described in this document. Are these use cases consistent with optical technology standards? • Particularly, please review the optical parameters (e.g., optical power, power control loop) and related procedures proposed for management if these are consistent with optical equipment standards. CCAMP would like to request your review and comments on this document. CCAMP appreciates your support and we are looking forward to continuing exchange of information as we continue to progress this work. Best regards, Daniele Ceccarelli and Fatai Zhang CCAMP Working Group Co-chairs |
