Dear Liaison Partner:

As an integral part of the Broadband Forum’s recently announced Broadband 20/20
vision we would like to inform you of our organizational restructuring that
will affect interactions with our liaison partners.

Broadband 20/20 is a vision of innovative, high-value services for the business
and consumer stakeholders and their 700+ million broadband installations. These
leverage use of NFV, SDN, Ultra-Fast access, Internet of Things, 5G in the
home, in small business and in multi-user infrastructure of the Broadband
network to create new business models and user experiences.

To support these exciting new initiatives, to foster a culture of rapid
technical development, rapid response to industry requirements, and
interactions with open source communities, the Forum has restructured its
organization into the following Work Areas which are now in operation:

-Broadband User Services
-Fiber Access Networks
-Converged Wireless-Wireline
-SDN and NFV
-Fiber to the Distribution Point
-Physical Layer Transmission
-Routing and Transport
-Architecture and Migration

Oversight and coordination of the Work Areas is via the Broadband Forum’s
Steering Committee guided by the Technical Committee Chair. Each Work Area is
comprised of Project Streams tasked with related technical and marketing
projects. In addition to the specific topics covered under the respective Work
Areas there are supporting projects for technology innovation, software, data
and information models, APIs, OAM, and interoperability & certification testing.

We feel our industry partners are critical to our mutual industry success and
with the Broadband Forum entering a new period of innovation, we look forward
to our continued working relationship.

For further details please see the goals of each Work Area, Broadband 20/20.
For questions regarding communication or interactions with the Forum please
contact our CEO Robin Mersh.

Sincerely,
Michael Fargano,
Broadband Forum Technical Committee Chair
