In relation to any IETF standard incorporating any such technology, Nortel
Networks hereby agrees to license on fair, reasonable, reciprocal and non-
discriminatory terms, any patent claims it owns covering such technology,
solely to the extent such technology is essential to comply with such
standard

Licensing information, comments, notes, or URL for further information

Nortel Networks U.S. Patent No.6,697,970, entitled "generic fault management
method and system, may contain claims that are believed may be necessary for
practicing the resulting IETF Standard. In this regard, Nortel Networks will
make available licenses on fair, reasonable, reciprocal, and
non-discriminatory terms, including royalties and/or other payments, to the
extent of such necessary claims it owns for the purposes of complying with
such resulting IETF Standard.
